This surgery should have been performed earlier but it took a while to sort things out, schedule time.

Hip Resurfacing 2 months later

Today it is 2 months after my hip resurfacing operation at Chennai. Life is so gooood. Seriously...

After the operation I couldn't post much. We moved recently and to top it all off we also moved both our kids to a school nearby.

It was the most hectic month ever. October and November have been crazy...

But...

My new hip was the best thing ever...

It carried me through these tough times. Imagine moving, packing, unpacking, cleaning, mopping, arranging and all that with a hip which has been replaced in September.

Yes I had my days of pain but NOTHING compared to the days before hip resurfacing was done. I popped a few pills for pain (provided by my hip surgeon and rheumatalogist) and kept working at it.

If you are considering hip resurfacing or replacement I would suggest go for it. It will change your life.

Let me tell you what all I could do today and it is only 12:00 pm now.

Wake up kids
Make their box ( rice noodles with minced chicken in hoisin sauce and soya plus chicken nuggets)
Make rice for son, made rice noodles (sauted with garlic, ginger, pepper) for daughter.

Make breakfast - lemon rice.

Send kids to school.

Clean stove, clean kitchen, wash clothes, dust whole house, clean all mirrors in house.

Now it is time to go pick up kids, run to the bank, go to the tailors, prepare dinner (clean up for night).

So you see the new hip is taking me through all these. I was not able to do all this before and my hip resurfacing has been a BIG blessing.

I was bed ridden most days prior to surgery, had to move around with assistance and to be able to do things myself feels like a new me :).

Deltamotion Rationale & Surgical Demo 1 Performed by Dr Vijay C Bose

Okay here is the actual type of hip replacement I opted for. Please don't watch video if you cannot view any blood, bones etc.

Hip replacement Day 18 tesimonial, operation by Dr. Vijay

Today is Day 18 on my hip resurfacing journey. My leg feels much stronger today. My daily routine involves, doing ankle pumps in the morning, as many of the hip exercises as I can and then move on to preparing breakfast, getting both kids ready for school.

Then I drop my kid downstairs where his van picks him up.

Now I move onto performing the leg exercises all over again. 10 times each.
Then 10 rounds of walking in the corridor which is pretty long.

Either rest a bit, read or listen to motivational audios, exercise.

I try to repeat the exercise atleast once in a couple of hours, ideally once every hour.

2:10 pm I go down bring my kid home. From then on, it is focus on kid time, listen to him, play with him.

His friend comes over to play at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm and they have a blast. I spend time meeting people, monitoring kids, preparing snacks for kids.

Then the day ends with early dinner, family time with kids and hubby, reviewing our days, what we did at school home and office.

Hip Resurfacing India Day 17, 2014 India

Yesterday was Day 17 , that it a total of 17 days after my hip replacement was performed by Dr. Vijay Bose at Chennai.

I can walk without the aid of crutches at home. I have not learnt how to navigate steps without them yet so I haven't tired to.

Though I must say the walk is wobbly and I have to really focus on keeping the torso straight. My operated leg is still a bit numb, gets a bit itchy, and nerve tingling is there.

Doctor had prescribed a tablet for this 10 days ago, the tablet should be consumed for 10 days.

The sensation has reduced quite a bit over the past few days. I still need to recover entirely.

Yesterday was Sunday, the whole family is at home. We had appam and stew for breakfast. Kichdi and pizza for lunch. Yes it was assorted.

I got to go out for the first time after my hip replacement operation (excluding the trip from hospital to home).

It felt fun, kids loved it, and felt stronger and confident.

I was a bit tired coming back home and we didn't do much else after the trip though. Anyways Day 17got over and onto school day Mondays which are totally hectic and quite tough to navigate with breakfast to make and boxes to pack.

Hip Resurfacing Testimonia Day 14 I can walk without crutches

Yippeee!

This is awesome, just my 14th day and I can walk without crutches. Though my gait is wobbly I cna manage to walk without the walking stick.

This is a great accomplishment and that is why I recommend hip resurfacing over hip replacement. Hip resurfacing makes recovery faster and quicker and you can do a lot more stuff faster.

Also you dont have the limitations of hip replacement, making life funner.
